Step 1.
This crucial phase involves gathering all relevant information and understanding the project's scope and requirements. Understanding the homeowners' needs and making sure nothing gets missed. Before tearing down old system we had to check if it was sized properly and if there were any issues.
Issues reported by customer: inconsistent airflow, basement always cold, not enough airflow on the first level.
What we found: oversized system, undersized ductwork with improper transitions in multiple spots.
Step 2.
After we collected all the necessary information by testing old HVAC system it was time to start taking everything down.
The first step in disconnecting the unit from service is called 'decommissioning' which involves recovery of refrigerant from the old AC unit according to EPA standards.

When HVAC units and ductwork were removed we started calculation process, which determines new system size, amount of air vents required for the house and ductwork size.

Once we have all the necessary information it is time to talk to the homeowner about equipment selection.
Step 3.
Project completed.
We have upgraded a furnace from 80% to 93% in efficiency which required us to run PVC pipes to the outside. This also makes the furnace less noisy as now it draws combustion air directly from the outside. Th unit was raised off the floor by utilizing a return air base which allows unit to circulate more air at less friction.
Filtration is a top notch here. It is Lennox most advanced product that is currently available which incorporates a UV bulb, a photocatalytic oxidation technology, a carbon filter and a MERV 16 air filter.
An Aprilaire 700M Powered Fan Humidifier was added for better humidity control during winter months.
