Common problems
Signs your water heater needs repair
If you notice any of these, call us before a small problem turns into a flooded basement or a cold shower.
No hot water
The water never gets hot, or the pilot or burner won't light.
Hot water runs out fast
Showers go cold quickly, often because of sediment or a failing part.
Temperature swings
Water goes hot and cold, a common sign of a tankless flow or sensor problem.
Leaks or puddles
Water around the base, valves or fittings should be checked right away.
Popping or rumbling
Noises from the tank usually mean sediment has built up on the bottom.
Error codes
A tankless unit is showing a code, locking out or shutting off mid-shower.

What homeowners say
We've had Ross out twice now in the past couple years, and have had wonderful experiences both times. He and AQC are reliable, trustworthy, and responsible! We will call AQC for all needs in the future.
I am the most skeptical person when it comes to hiring people who I don't know, to work on stuff for me. I can honestly say that AQC and Ross far exceeded any expectations that we had. … Great price, great service, very organized and left everything cleaner that it was!
During the installation, Ross noticed something that didn't look quite right with the piping. … He ran a camera through the piping and discovered an actual issue that needed to be addressed. Even more impressively, he fixed the problem without charging us anything extra.

How fast can you come out?

Will I know the price before you start?
Yes. We diagnose the problem first and give you an upfront price. You approve it before any repair work begins.
Do you repair tankless water heaters?
Yes. We repair tank and tankless water heaters from any brand, including A.O. Smith, Rheem, Ruud and Navien. Common tankless repairs include igniters, flame rods, flow sensors, inlet filters, condensate neutralizers and error codes.
My water heater is leaking. What should I do?
Turn off the cold water valve on the pipe above the water heater. On a gas unit, turn the gas control to off; on an electric unit, switch off the breaker. Then call us at (773) 387-9104.
Should I repair or replace my water heater?
If the tank itself is leaking, it needs to be replaced. Most tank water heaters last about 8 to 12 years, so if yours is older and needs a major repair, a new one may make more sense. We'll walk you through both options honestly.
How often should a tankless water heater be flushed?
About once a year. Homes with hard water, which is common around Chicago, may need it more often. Flushing removes scale so the unit heats efficiently and lasts longer.
